Now that school is back it has given me an opportunity really get into cooking and trying new things that was just not happening with my 8 and 5 year old running around asking me what adventure we were going to have that day.
A little history about the tart:
There are basically two thoughts on the history of tarts.
The first one has evolved out of the “putting things on top of other things” tradition of gastronomy.
The thought maintains that tarts spring from the Medieval pie-making tradition, and are in fact a kind of flat, open-faced pie.
Over time culinary trends took tarts primarily in the sweet direction although citrus tarts like orange and lemon are two all-time classics.
